| MEZCLA ANNOUNCES THEIR FALL
2000 US TOUR: Direct from Havana, the Cuban Roots Fusion Ensemble MEZCLA will return to the US this fall. Their music embodies the mestizaje of Cuba's diverse African, Spanish and Caribbean origins. Their mulatto sound is a dynamic hybrid of funky Afro-Cuban rhythms with jammin' jazz, rankin' reggae, rockin' son and lyrics that tell it like it is. MEZCLA's music is an innovative mix of the traditional with the modern and the local with a whole world of music. MEZCLA has collaborated and shared the stage with many renowned artists both in Cuba --Lazaro Ros, Los Munequitos de Matanzas, Los Van Van, Silvio Rodriguez and Sintesis, to name a few-- and outside of Cuba including Carlos Santana, Bonnie Raitt, Tito Puente, Ozomatli and Bruce Cockburn.
